Conservators All Are We

I don't mean to make this a sad post but today was somewhat of a bitter sweet day. Tom and I had to petition the court to become Daniel's conservator. We had to do this because Daniel is over 18 and is not capable of making decisions for himself. So someone needs to be able to speak for him legally and medically. So the judge(not the one below) granted that to us today. It was a bitter day because it was more of a reality that Daniel has problems and we shouldn't have to be asking the court for this. But on the other hand, it was sweet to know that we can protect him from someone who would want to take advantage of him. We are really grateful that we were granted conservatorship of him.

I'm sure that was a bitter sweet moment for you and Tom. Daniel is so blessed to have you both always looking after his best welfare.
Was that the picture I took of you 3? It really is a good one.

Jill reminded me that I didn't mention the wonderful photo credits. The picture of the judge is from google images and the picture of all of us is from the great and wonderful JILL SHELLEY. Didn't she do a great job? This picture is priceless to me because we don't have very many family pictures. Thanks Jill, you awesome woman you!!!

Hi Karen!

I wondered what happened to you. I had you on Google Reader and you didn't pop up as having posted recently. I'll add you to my favorites. I have about 8 people in Google Reader and I can't figure out how to add more. Isn't that weird? I'm so lacking in computer knowledge. Maybe I can do it once, but that doesn't mean I can do it again!

You are tremendous parents. This step is necessary to protect him from some unscruptulous people. Be thankful for the process.

Fondly, Susan

This is great, and sounds like it went very well - as it should! Nice family picture :-)
