Helping Hands Day-Dan Foley Park

Today, May 8, 2010, the Napa Ca. Stake of the Church of Jesus Christ of Later Day Saints held a Mormon Helping Hands Day at Dan Foley Park in Vallejo. It was fun and the park is so beautiful. Tom and I got the assignment to paint this railing. Doesn't it look great? I DID help but someone had to take the picture for the blog!
Here is Tom lending a hand(no pun intended) to paint the lines on the basketball court. I just supervised on the painting but I did help pull off the tape.

Here is the beautifully painted basketball court.

This is Tom with two of the missionaries that were there. Elder Millet on the left and Elder Abbott on the right. Elder Millet served in our ward for a while.

This is our "we were there" picture. Don't we look just lovely?
*It was a really fun day and we are glad we went. I hope they have another one some day.*

Dan Foley Park in Vallejo CA is situated on 60 acres (adjacent to the Marine World facility) - so what you see here is a very small part of the park. Our stake was represented today with over 400 members who as a service to the community all worked from 8am to Noon to help restore and beautify this park - the park workers who witnessed what was accomplished were absolutely astounded. It was a pretty amazing experience.

This was a state-wide thing (maybe national?) and our 4 stakes did the same here in Fresno/Clovis. Good for you! Many hands DO MAKE A DIFFERENCE! Fondly, Susan

The yellow jerseys and tshirts were the best part! So lovely. Good job, the court and railing look like a job well done!

Our stake worked on Pena Adobe Park in Vacaville. I couldn't go and I did want to go. Jeff was working and had class that day so I had Robyn. She couldn't go because she was still recovering from her fingers being caught in the van door. She can now bend her fingers but not on Saturday.
