Lunch With Daniel

Today Tom and I went over to Daniel's house and picked him up for lunch. First we had to go to Daddy's office. Of course Daniel went right to the computer and got on Youtube. He loves to get on there and watch clips of game shows. Then we went to lunch at a place called Country Waffles. It was pretty good. We all had Oriental Chicken Salads. They were so good. Daniel and Tom ate all of theirs but I had to take some home with me. Daniel was very good.

Here is the sign in front of the restaurant. I love all the pretty trees around it.
While we were by Tom's office we saw Lori and her husband Corey. They were over there taking a CPR class. Lori is the lady who owns the home that Daniel lives in. It was so good to see her. Pretty soon Daniel and 3 other people are going to move into Lori and Corey's house for a while and then Lori is going to buy another group home for them. This is because when they turn 22 they have to go to an adult home. So instead of finding another home, Daniel gets to stay with them and she is just going to make her home an adult home. Tom and I are so grateful to Lori for doing this. It is a miracle.

What great new about Daniel being able to stay with Lori. That is a blessing. They've been so good to him and for him, and I'm sure good to the others who live there too.

Looks like you had a delightful lunch and time together.

Fondly, Susan

That is awesome that Daniel will be able to stay with the same people. I'm sure that's such a big load off of your shoulders!

What a nice day that you had with Daniel today! I love your photos. You both look so happy! As a mother, I know the relief and joy you must feel to know that he is comfortable and well taken care of. I'm so happy that he gets to stay with the same people who are obviously taking such good care of him. Thanks so much for sharing your day with us! Candace

Thanx for the visit onboard Steadfast.

Daniel looks like he enjoyed the visit as much as you did. Salad is about all I am eating these days due to the D.I.E.T. (Not really, but it sure feels like it.) Nine pounds and counting.

Have a good week. Rosemary

That does sound like good news! I have a disabled cousin who may/may not have an adult home in his future. It is a stressful decision for everyone involved.

Karen, I am so glad you had such a great time with Daniel. Today I went to the Fragil X to see what it was and learn a bit. Your Lori sounds like the perfect lady for your Daniel. I have a friend that has a disabled daughter and have learned along with her just what adult life is going to be like. Thank you for sharing.
Take care and have a blessed evening.
