A Wonderful Phone Call

As most of you know, our son lives in a group home. He has lived there since he was 5 years old. It was hard, but he is in such a great home that it has been very easy for us to have him there. Well, in the Special Ed. world, when a child turns 21 that means they are an adult and they have to go to adult care homes, schools etc. So, Daniel will be 21 in February. That means we have to find another group home for him. This was very traumatic for Tom and I to think about because we know that we couldn't find one as good as the one he is in now. Now to make a long story short, this wonderful lady, Lori, called me today and said she would be opening an adult home. I was so excited I almost cried. The minute I got off the phone I thanked God for this. Lori and her husband Cory on their wedding day.
Our sweetheart son.

Thank God they still do!!!!

I started to write something when you first posted this but it just did not come out right, so I will try again. I have been thinking about you and Tom and Daniel. I read today about someone in the blogging world whose husband said God is active in their life. I thought of you, and this post, and how He is obviously active in your life too. Sort of like that line from Sound of Music....when a door is closed, somewhere a window will open. Sounds like your friend Lori is the one opening the window this time. Please keep us posted on this.

The most beautiful things in life are things that come from a persons heart. When we read the good news about Daniels oppotunity to live in a group home where love is abundantly found, is a real blessing. We can't help but think of the words to the song,"Love one Another." Thank heaven for people who are willing to open their hearts to special people like Daniel.

I imagine that to be a very stressful situation and I'm so happy for you that things look like they're going to work out for the best. That really is a wonderful blessing.

I'm just catching up on blogs - well actually your blog, I don't read many others. We'll say a prayer of thanks for this good news. You are such a good mother and so devoted to this angel son of yours.
